My Audience Experience
The atmosphere was booming of enriched excitement, screaming, yelling, shrieking from left right and centre. Voices of 60,000 individuals moulding into one as they sing the same song. United. It was the night of the Bruno Mars concert. I have honestly never experienced an audience beaming with such positive vibes.
Where we could all be together in the same huge room and share our excitement.
Of course, pre covid times where nowadays an audience is via zoom or facetime or skype etc etc from our separate.
This audience hits very different to audiences nowadays. Where you could feel within you other people’s energy and share the exhilaration within the room. This personally would have been my favourite audience to have been a part of, also because Bruno Mars is my favourite singer. This was about 3 years ago.
However, an audience today audience wouldn’t be considered as much of an audience as it was a few years ago. Individuals have utilised the power of media and social networks to connect one another during this pandemic where we aren’t left with any other choice except to connect online. We discussed some of these ideas at uni this week. While outside factors are changing, deep down the so called ‘audience’ we share today still have the same intentions.
Although, there are huge benefits and social excitement in the real life, enormous crowds that bring nothing but mega animation and delight amongst one another, individuals have needed to adapt to the world of media to be the audience nowadays.
As the online audience feels different and a bit odd, there are benefits to this new ‘audience’ that people get to experience more in the meantime. It allows people to be more creative, relax and explore the depth of the internet. It additionally lets people comment on the stream while it is currently playing, a new dimension of participating in an audience that individuals wouldn’t have been able to experience much of before.
So, although the typical audience coming from everyone standing/ sitting in the same huge room doesn’t occur much now, we get to embrace in the new dimension of being in audience that comes with benefits on its own where people can experience a new type of audience.
At the end of the day, an audience is a group of people that get to share and react to experiences together, and we get to do this in many different ways, that’s the excitement of participating in an audience.
