My Digital Artefact consists of an Instagram account and web page raising awareness to save our beautiful Australian koalas after the devastating Australian bushfires back in 2020.
My webpage and instagram account has the World Wildlife Foundation link included to allow audiences to easily access the site and have the ability to ‘adopt a koala’ or donate to the cause.
My instagram account includes a bunch of hashtags to captivate a wider audience and generate more likes, whilst my web page was posted to twitter to do the same thing.
Initially, my projected was based around raising awareness for animal poaching in general. However after trying to grab audience’s attention with my instagram account was hard work and seemed to capture very little interest. Which is why I switched to focusing on just koalas and the Australian bushfire matter as this allowed people to connect to the subject with a deeper level and therefore grabbing a large audience’s attention, and this ultimately worked.
Therefore my instagram page includes various images of koalas and hashtags to raise the awareness of the iconic Australian koalas as they never fully recovered after the 2020 bushfires.
